SC LEASE with ROOMMATES

Currently renting with roommates one of which has broken lease. The 3 remaining are being charged with one months rent not paid by 4th who broke lease. Each of 3 girls has for over 2 years sent in individual checks which has been accepted and the month portion shortage not paid by 4th... the 3 checks were deposited. The Co. who owns the property named on the lease has allowed the property to foreclose and is being handled by a management co who is not named in our lease but were told they get our rent checks since the property is bank owned. Our lease also does not have the terms "JOINTLY&SEVERALLY" or a waiver clause? We have picked up a 4th roommated so rent is being paid at full amt. Are we really responsible for the 1 month with all of the above???
