Buy house, build ADU, make it a duplex
interested in comments regarding investing money in a house in CA. and then building an ADU unit in the backyard and turning the property basically into a duplex. Purchase price of house is $649k, put down 20% build a new stand alone 650sq ft ADU in the backyard for approx $130k. So roughly $260k of my newly inherited money will go into this project. The estimated rental income is $4k to 5k per month. goal is to hold this property and eventually buy another one and repeat. I understand the Brrrrr strategy and different calculators to figure cash flow, but is it really worth it? the time, hassle? i go both ways on this, not sure what to do? thanks for any suggestions
