Renters that moved away and now blocked me.
I had renters in my property for about 8 months and they signed a 2 year lease contract. Then they told me in November they needed to break their lease and had to move. Her husband is in the military and came down here to be a cop then I guess is going back to the military but he was not active during the time of their lease. In the lease they had signed it stated if they break their lease they have to pay $2000, I messed up and told them it was only $1500 but I said I would keep my word on it. Anyways she tried to say well cant you just take that from my security deposit and I told her no that in her lease it states that she will not get her security deposit back and that she needs to pay a termination fee. They moved out Nov 28th then said they needed the time to get us the money. Finally she told me a date Jan 14th shed be able to send the money. I texted her that day and no response, texted her the next day no response, and finally again the last day and no response and all the messages delivered. I called her phone and it rang left a voicemail and did the same for her husband. Went again to try and call later that day and they have now blocked me so it goes right to voice mail (if i dial *67 it will ring like normal). The husband like I said is in the military and I have some of the information on him from their benefits department because he is on disability. What can I do?

We rent to military & anytime they had to break a lease we let them off regardless of the lease & we have never yet pursued the cash owed, as we rent it immediately. They leave the property in great shape & we get their referrals that have kept the properties filled.
