Efficient room rental & upper half of home rented

Jessica Marques
Posted

Hi there! I purchased my first home investment in South Florida. I currently live in the home while the back room (large Florida room with bathroom and back door entrance), is being rented out. The back room tenant does NOT have access to the house - pays a flat rate for rent plus cable & internet. I am in the process of relocating and would like to rent the upper half out as well. Any advice on how to manage the bills? Being it’s more than 1 party renting under the same roof - should I continue to pay the bills under my name?

Thank you for the guidance!
