Capital Improvements on Long Distance Rental
Hi Bigger Pockets!
So just as the title says, im wondering how some of you long distance rental owners deal with capital improvements on your properties?
My rental is about 3 hours away and I visit it once a month to do preventative maintenance on my steam boilers. Whenever I go up though I wonder what sort of capital improvements folks prioritize and how do you manage it?
Not living at or near the propert makes me nervous with not identifying things that are nearing their useful life (Windows, siding, exterior paint, roof, porches, etc.)
Im looking to get a property manager involved soon so then I'll be even more disconnected so im trying to put a plan together.
Would appreciate any personal experience or suggestions !
