Tax Planning for New Landlord

Hi BP,

I began renting my previous single family residence in San Diego CA earlier this year, in May 2019, when I bought my new primary residence in San Diego.  I have not set up any type of corporate entity, rental payments are being made to me directly.  I've kept track of the relatively small number of expenses for the property so far.  At April 15th tax time I'll will seek professional tax advice for my first tax year with rental property.  However my question is around any actions that I should perform before 2019 year end that would benefit my personal taxes.  I've researched some, but actually haven't seen much advice on anything I should do prior to 12/31/2019 for planning purposes.  Thanks for any feedback to help.

Thanks.

-Brent
