Managing fear, stress & anxiety in Real Estate. Please help!!

Josh Johnson

Hey guys, very long time reader here, but first time poster. I wanted to see if other experienced investors could help me on how to deal with the stress, anxiety and sometimes the fear of managing a larger portfolio of homes? It's tough and I feel very much alone in my struggles. :(

I own and self manage almost 85 doors. I do this full time and the rental income alone supports myself and family. We clear (net) almost 15k in rental income and doesn't include cost to factor back in such as vacancies, turn costs, repairs and that doesn't include "Flip" income either (we sell 1 every month or two). I'm not trying to brag or .... I know things are good, but I still stress out over big ticket repairs, vacancies, what if this happens, what if that happens, etc, etc, etc! I'm mid 30s and none of my friends can relate to what I go through (they all have normal 9-5 jobs) so in a lot of ways I feel alone. I do very much enjoy this business, but occasionally the stress and anxiety of this really gets to me.

Is anyone in the same boat? How do you manage your fear, stress and anxiety in this business? Any tips or advice that you can give me? Thanks so much in advance!
