House contaminated with Meth

Brock Whitworth
Posted

I am a newby, trying to house-hack a property. I made an offer on a house and signed the REPC. I had the house inspected and paid extra for the methamphetamine test. Results came back and there was enough substance to be reported to the city. I’ve read a little bit about decontamination processes. If I move forward with the deal (as long as I renegotiate the deal for the seller to pay for all decontamination costs) will this decontamination process rid the property of being labeled as a “meth house” and allow me to sell it later if I choose to do so? Any info on how this process is recorded with local authorities would be great. For reference, this is in the state of Utah. Thank you in advance!

@Brock Whitworth once a meth house always a meth house...There isn’t a deal in the world that would be good enough to be messing with meth contamination
