In MN - small claims or just collection agency?

I had to evict a tenant. He owes back rent and court/attorney's fees. Should I take him to small claims court or can/should I just send it to a collection agency? Also, any great ways to find out someone's address that won't give it to you? Thanks!

It's different for everyone. When I evict someone, I also ask for a judgment at the same time. I get them out and I have a judgment that defines how much they owe. Then I hand it all over to a collection agency.

If you don't have judgment, I recommend Small Claims Court unless your area has a different process. It wouldn't hurt to spend $200 to speak with an attorney and see what your options are.
