Locating Property Management Companies

Hey everyone I am wanting to transition my rentals over to a Property Management company. The problem is I am having difficult locating them.

The way I have been searching is opening up google maps, entering in my zip code 75040 + Property management companies. In other words my search in google maps reads "75040 Property Management Companies"

I found a few pages worth of hits, but not nearly as many as I expected. How can I locate more?

Go out to Craigs List and look at the rental ads for single family homes in your area. The prop mgmt companies normally identify themselves in these ads, and typically have a pretty nice looking ad. The # of ads they have out there will also give you an idea of their vacancy rate (do a search using their name or phone number for the criteria), once you call them and ask how many units they manage in total. Their ads will also give you an idea of their marketing ability and professionalism, and you can see what you think of their inventory and rent setting, to see if your property will fit in. Using these addresses, look up the owners on the tax assessor's site and call them for a reference. Also ask the PM directly who their largest 3 owners are, and call them.
