Importance of Rental Property Insurance - Strata

Hi everyone! I have been shopping for rental property insurance under the impression that having insurance is always required. I was wondering, for apartments in particular that contain very few contents belonging to the landlord (apart from kitchen appliances), how necessary is this insurance for landlords?
