Has anyone here purchased the Quickbooks guide from the website landlordaccounting . com? I have been a user of Quickbooks for years, but getting into rentals now and it's a whole new type of tracking when it comes to property and tenants. I am looking for something to help me get rolling quickly without toiling through the learning curve on setting up the company file. Thanks! David

There are several things I do when setting up Quickbooks

Tenants are set up as customers
My customer ID format is Property - Unit - Tenant

411- Tenant Name
5698 - Tenant Name

Holly101 - Tenant Name
Holly102 - tenant Name

I use the class field to identify the specific properties and make it possible to create a profit and loss statement with class columns separating out each property. It does mean a little more work when entering invoices and creating bills or checks.
