What costs do you al include in your basis for rental houses? Obviously the contract price is included, but do you also add things like closing costs, title insurance, and realtor commission? I think property taxes are expensed immediately. Do you add a new roof into the cost basis? What about costs for plumbing to get it into rental shape? Thank you.
