21 years, original tenant, duplex 6 yrs same bldg as above 4 yrs duplex 4 yrs same bldg, never vacant, word of mouth 21 years. 3 years, house, only advertised once, word of mouth.

We have one tenant who just passed her 5 year anniversary with us. Before her, we had a tenant who was with us for about 2 years, but was a former tenant of about 3 years prior to that. We recently said goodbye to some other tenants that were with us for 2 years.

11 years (2 yrs with us since we bought the property, and 9 yrs before that).

My aunt rented a house (3/2 w/ converted garage )in 1984, she moved out and my uncle moved in in 1990 and then my other aunt moved in in 1993. This house has been rented to a member of my family in it paying $450 rent for the past 28 years. My aunt who has lived there for for the past almost 20 years refuses to purchase the house because she does not want the responsibility of having to do the lawn and repairs. The original landlord has passed away and not she pays rent to the son is does exactly as his dad did. Make my aunt an offer to buy the house every couple months at a very low price since she has paid the house off already.

The second house I ever purchased still has the same renter in it. That was 9 years ago. That said, I have collected quite a few rentals since then and haven't been able to come close to repeating that luck. :)

18 months so far....but a friend of mine just bought a condo after renting the same apartment for almost 30 years!!

Going to close on a property in two weeks with a tenant who's been there for 22 years. I'll be his third landlord.

Residential, 3 years Commercial, 4 years, my own company renting my own building. Incidentally, one of the things that got me into REI is that my company rented the same space for 10 years, paying about $600k in rent to the landlord. I figured if we are going to be this stable, we need to buy and pay ourselves that rent. It's more fun paying rent to yourself.

Longest term tenant?

We are just getting our 2nd property ready to rent. Our first rental property has had the same tenant for 8.5 years. Hoping we can have a long term tenant in the next one also.

Just wondering how long your longest term tenant has stayed?
