Detroit Property Managment

Hello, Im in the process of closing on my first investment property which is a SFR. It has been a very educational journey.

Because I live out of state I need a good property manager. Most of the management groups I have come across by searches have little to no recent reviews. Naturally I'm look for reliability, quality, fair rates , online access for the tenant and myself, and it is important that the tenant is treated well. I believe a tenant that is treated fairly is more likely to stay.

Also I would like to hear how the seasoned investors go about making sure their Property Managers are continuing to do a good job with tenants and the property. (Do you ever contact the tenant to get their take on management??? or is this a NO NO??)

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions on PM companies in the Detroit area and tips on staying on top of them.

Thank you all for the wealth of knowledge you provide.
