Finding a commercial appraiser

Account Closed
Posted

We just inherited 40 acres of land close to the Colorado River near Parker, Arizona. This land is part of the CRIT Indian Reservation. The land comes with five commercial tenants that use it for agricultural-related purposes. These tenants have been there for decades and want to stay and of course we want them to stay too. There are currently no leases in place as the property manager for the previous owner was content to go by unwritten agreement with the tenants. The tenants are now paying us directly and are very eager to get leases in place. The rents they are paying are nothing to frown at but we've been led to believe by various sources that the previous appraisal done by the Bureau of Indian Affairs could be significantly undervalued. I hope this is making sense. We'd like to have our own independent appraisal done and don't know where to find a reliable appraiser in the area with at least some knowledge of tribal laws. Suggestions? Thanks :)
