How to title properties - LLC hierarchy, etc

How do you all structure your property ownership? Currently, I have 4 owned in personal name, and I need to get them into an LLC. Separately, I have 20 rentals in an LLC with a partner. They are all in the same LLC. I feel like I am likely taking unnecessary risk in that regard. I believe I've heard of people having each property in its own LLC, and then a master LLC owning each of the "sub" LLCs. My question would then be, do you create banking accounts for each of the sub LLCs? Seems like a nightmare. But in my understanding, if you commingle the cash, and treat it like a single LLC, you don't get the protection of each LLC being separate.

Hope that all made sense, and appreciate any feedback you have.
