Illegal debt reported

Crystal Lopez
Posted

My new landlord is renovating my apartment and I was given a 60 day notice as on June 6,2019 by the property management company.

I have decided that I want to purchase a home now so I made an appointment to see a loan officer . While they are checking my credit report through experian. They informed me that I have a debt of -1,200 from my current property management company posted on May 24,2019.
Let me just make it clear that I have NEVER been late on my rent .

Now , I am confused on how they can put a debt on my credit weeks prior getting a 60 day notice. Not to mention, they never informed me about any debt.

This all seems pre-meditated and I want to know if this is illegal.
