Property management co paid RE taxes late, should they pay fees?

Our property management company paid the real estate taxes for the properties they manage for us late, resulting in significant late fees.

Are they legally responsible to reimburse us for fees? We are in Virginia; so far I don’t see anything specific about this kind of situation in the contract.

Replied

What does your contract say about the services the PM will perform and when?  What are the remedies for non-performance in the contract?  And, I just have to know - what is the PM telling you why the taxes weren't pay on time and about the late fee?  The contract really drives the outcome here.  I sure wouldn't want to do business with anyone who wouldn't do what is ethically right - without even the legal card added - and make this right.
