Moving to Detroit to invest in real state

Hello everyone,

I have my date pick out to move to Detroit. Should be there by the end of August. I’m moving to invest in real state, but I also want to open a property management business. I been managing my own properties for about 4 years now and is something I enjoy doing. I know that doing it as a business is different than just doing it for my self. I have done my HW on the requirements to do this, but I would like to hear from anybody who’s done it before or is currently a property manager. What should I look out for? What are the biggest risks, liabilities or difficulties?? Thanks in advance for any information.

@Maria Luna, shoot me a note when you get here.

@Joe Villeneuve is probably the most negative person I've seen when it comes to Detroit. While there's some truth to what he says, take it with a grain of salt. To my knowledge he has never purchased, managed, or done business in Detroit. But he sure is vocal about it!
