Should my landlord replace my stove?
Hi guys, I'm living in Ireland, Dublin and I'm living in an apartment to much clean or new. Anyway, I'm doing some fix in the apartment and the place has become very good to live, but I'm speeding a few time to fix and money. Most of the things I'm buying I can bring with me, but, for example, stove, no. The hub cooktop is working, slowly, but works, but is terrible looking. I would like your opinion, should my landlord repair or not?
Thanks

I'm not gunna pretend to understand Irish laws, but typically "operational" is the only requirement for a appliance under law. If it is so old and rundown that it causes a health or safety hazard, you would have an argument, but if it just looks outdated you likely have no leg to stand on, legally, since you rent a property in as-is condition. You knew what the stove looked like before signing the lease. That being said, you always have the option of asking for a new stove as a condition of renewing your lease. Your landlord also (probably) has the right to ask for higher rent to in exchange for the new stove. You, in turn, have the right to seek alternate living arrangements. Rentals are a business, and if you are not happy with the service you receive, go get it somewhere else.
Your most accurate response would involve sitting down with an Irish lawyer, but at that point, you could just buy a new stove.
