Background check: Criminal/traffic violation?

We had an applicants background check come back with 3 records labeled as "CRIMINAL/TRAFFIC." To my knowledge these types of violations only show on a background check if they are misdemeanors or felonies. Applicant says they are just speeding tickets and seat belt violations. Any advice on how to get more info on these?
