Determining Income qualifications with Section 8

Donna Hutchinson
Posted

How do you determine income qualifications for Section 8 tenants?  Is it different from tenants who aren't on Section 8? Does 3x rent still qualify considering their income is obviously low considering they are receiving Section 8.  Should the voucher they receive be considered income and included as income?

@Erik Whiting expecting a section 8 tenant to make 3x the rent defeat the purpose of Section 8 program. People who make that much wont qualify for Section voucher. @Patti Robertson hit the nail on the head. Income = atleats 1x the rent makes more sense to me.
