What Improvements Should I make to Increase Value?

Buying a 2 family home and I will be living in this unit. Ignore the horrible décor. What would be the best bang for my buck as far as charging slightly more rent + give a nice living experience while I'm there. Obviously I don't want to spend too much because I won't be living there forever. But I do want it to be nice for myself while I am there and for future renters. Durable, minimal upkeep materials would be needed.

Flooring is the first thing that comes to mind. I want to replace it with wood or something that looks like wood..What would be a good inexpensive durable material to use?

Repainting the white walls. Something light in color but appealing to most. I just personally don't like white walls

Kitchen painting the cabinets a light gray would enhance the look in my opinion, with new hardware...low cost

Kitchen, what kind of countertops would you suggest? Formica/Laminate?

Kitchen appliances stainless steel? Do you think this would be worth it?

(the over range microwave doesn't work and neither does the dishwasher, so I was thinking of changing the color to stainless steel and replacing the fridge and stove as well)

Any other suggestions you have would be great.

Personally, I would suggest throwing down some flooring that isn't carpet. Preferably LVP or laminate. I would leave kitchen floor alone. Painting is also a good idea. For kitchen I would replace cabinet pulls, maybe replace appliances with stainless steel if your market demands it. Counters look fine in kitchen, but if they don't look good in person just replace them with new laminate, unless your market will get higher rent for granite.
