Hello, and thank you so very much for taking your time to read my post. I really hope I write the facts clear enough for all the understand the advice I need on the California Laws.. Here is my situation. I bought a home specifically to rent out to my Mother and a Grandmother who has been living there now for a few years. However, problems came up in the house I was living in and lost my home which caused me and my family (Husband and Five year old Son.) To now move into the home my Mother rents and lives. Personal problems took place where my Husband and I got into a fight where he stabbed me twice and now is in jail. My family took his side where I thought it would be best to leave and stay elseware.  Here's the problem I am having I left almost all my belonging at my moms, including paperwork for cars, deed to home, my sons clothes, my clothes ETC. The rental lease is a Month to Month with rent due on the 5th of each Month which she is late paying for this Month. I went to get my child clothes and mine and my Mother wont allow me to get my belongings. What are the Laws pertaining to this and what can I do legally to get my things? I will be serving her a Three day pay or quit followed by a Detainer for a Eviction. I live in California. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
