What need to do for having a partner?

Hello BP family!! My friend and I want to start an investment together. What do we need to do as far as legality. I heard so many bad things when it comes to money and friendship. We want to laid everything out in writing before we start so there will be no mixed understanding. Do we need to get LLC or lawyer to write out a contract? Thanks in an advance!!

Yes to an LLC, yes to a lawyer, yes to a CPA, and yes to high risk of losing your friend. Is it really worth it?
