Security deposit return

I’m in Pennsylvania. My prior tenant is threatening to take me to small claims court over my retaining part of his security deposit. I have a couple questions.

Is a text message considered written notice?

Do I need to provide him with receipts for the repairs I’ve itemized?

I have provided a letter with the reasons for the deductions.
