Lockbox etiquette while tenant still there
I'm renting a property myself without the aid of a real estate agent. I'm considering putting a lockbox on the door so that if a realtor wants to show up with a potential tenant, they can let themselves in.
How does that work when tenants are still occupying the house? Obviously I'd have to coordinate to make sure that the tenant is not home. It seems that if I had hired a realtor to rent the place, they'd be doing the lockbox anyway.
Also, the tenant has a dog. The dog is super old and just sits there so it doesn't really mess with the showings. I've been putting it in the garage. I've also coordinated with the tenants to leave the dog in the garage the day of showings.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Sal
