Not renewing with management company

Hi all, new to this site. My question is about not renewing with my management co. My contract is up 12/31/11 and I would like to self manage. The potential problem I see is that the tenants have a contract with them until 1/31/12. Before I start this process, I would like to know what problems I may face like who collects the last months rent and should they give me the deposits or back to the tenants. Will they try and force me to re-up for the last month? I anticipate them (Go-Renter) being pains if the butt if they can be. Any info. appreciated, thanks.
