So What Is Your Plan?
A recent thread started me thinking. What is the proper procedure to follow if a tenant dies?
If a tenant dies, whether in the unit or elsewhere, what should we do with their stuff? I know Missouri's laws regarding a tenant abandoning property, but this really doesn't seem to fit. You can't just turn it over to a relative (even if you know for sure they are a relative) because they may not be the proper person.
So what is your plan?

I've recently added a clause to my lease and my lease renewal that has them provide a contact person that is authorized to remove things on their behalf in the case of death or incapacitation. Keep it short and simple, have your attorney review and approve.
