Month to month lease

Hi guys! I have a question on month 2 month lease, lets say  I inform the tenant that they have 30days to find a new place because is not just working for the both of us and let say its march 30th and and the first day of the 30 days is April 1 and they find and moved April 27th are leaving free between april 1 and 27th , theyre not responsible for paying for anyrhing like utility and rent.
