Suing my Rental Company Over a Towed Rental Car
Hey everyone, I had a quick legal question for you all.
I got into a car accident a few weeks ago, so I have been driving a rental car. My apartment complex tows, so my property manager gave me a visitor parking pass to put on the rental car that he said would allow me to park there until the 30th of September. This morning, I woke up and my rental car had been towed.
When my rental office opens, I plan to go the management and request that they pay the impound fees. If they don't, I want to threaten legal action because I relied on their assurance that the parking pass they gave me would prevent me from getting towed until the 30th of the month. The impound fee would be the damages I would request. Also, I had to use a day of sick leave for my job that I would not have used otherwise, because I was saving it for an emergency. Would I be able to request any sort of damages for that as well?
My main question, though, is whether you think I have any sort of legal recourse. The only written documentation I have is the parking pass he provided me, which is in the car.
