Water Bill for $5000 in Massachusetts
Hi Everyone and Landlords,
I just got a water bill from the city for like almost $5k. It is 13x of what I used to pay.
I checked with my tenants in the building to see if they have any issue with their toilet, sink, tub .. running constantly, and everyone is responding with nothing is broken or running.
I am just curious to see if anyone ever ran into similar problem. I am assuming I am stuck with the bill now..... is there anyway I can get around reducing the payment or avoid this .... I am just curious... Please let me know what you think..
Thank you

Google says Boston water runs $51-$56 per 1000 cubic feet (for some reason instead of gallons) and it also says about 7.5 gallons per cubic foot. Using the middle of $53/1000cf/7500 gallons. You’d have to have used 7500 x 100 gallons to get a bill over $5,000. Dunno how you could use 750,000 gallons. That’s 25,000 per day. Thats more than my pool.
Is your sewer measured? Can they tell you if you flushed 750,000 gallons down the drain?
The expert would be any plumber that specializes in leak detection and/or main water breaks/repairs.
