Screening Applicants...what would you do?
Greetings All,
I have a SFR opening up in a couple months and started accepting applications. I had one applicant with a domestic abuse on his background check. The incident occurred almost 20 years ago. what are your thoughts and am I legally allowed to ask him about it?
Full disclosure, he also has a bankruptcy 5 years ago, credit is completely shot. I don't think Ill be renting to him but wanted to get everyones opinions on the specific things I mentioned. Also, am I legally allowed to ask him about his bankruptcy?
cheers
Adam

@Adam Stroik
I send every possible tenant the same response. All applicants will apply and pay for a background report through www.mysmartmove.com which includes a criminal, credit, and rental history.
If they know they have bad credit, they don’t wast my time or their $40
