Exterior Lighting on Duplex in Transitional Area
Closing on my first duplex next Friday, each side is a 1/1. It's in a transitional area, lots of activity and some really nice remodels selling well within just a couple of blocks, but there is a halfway house across the street, an abandoned property a few doors down, and there was a break-in at the duplex when the unit was vacant.
I'd like to increase the curb appeal and safety "feel" of the property by adding some outdoor lighting. The unit has a couple of usual porch lights, but I'd like to go a step beyond. I'm considering using landscape style uplighting around the perimeter, or, since the roof is being re-decked anyway, having some soffit lights installed.
Any thoughts one way or the other? Should I be thinking about a different option?
