Should I advertise house for rent or too soon?

Nadir M.

I just closed on my first out of state investment property. I am meeting with a PM next weekend but not sure if I should wait to advertise the house for rent or wait until I hire them? The PM already viewed the house and wants to manage it for me. I feel like I should have already started the renting process. Thoughts?

Thank you

I would not do anything until you have a sit down with the PM and clearly spell out your expectations in detail.

Managing a PM is not a easy job and not something you want to do on the fly. You need clear cut understandings regarding screening standards, leases, repairs, expenses, evictions, late fees, regular communications, etc, etc etc.
