best software or paperless vehicle for receipts for tax records

Just finished taxes for properties . I have always just keep all the receipts in a big envelope for the  year, for each property, and then gave myself a headache on tax time trying to go through it. Was hoping someone could guide me towards the best software to buy or paperless vehicle so I could take a picture of my receipts and record them for taxes. Always worried I will lose past years.
