Landlord and tenant responsibilities before a hurricane

Greetings all:

I have tried finding information in regards of the steps and responsibilities for landlords as well as tenants before a hurricane hits.

I am in Florida and there is a possibility of a hurricane heading our way.

As landlord what things do I need to do or what are my responsibilities in a case like this? The same applies for tenants.

Kind regards.

Charley,

Many of my properties are in FL. In addition I do not rent any of my homes but sell them via wraps. I keep a list of detailed instruction taped inside a kitchen cabinet that lets the tenant-buyer know about local emergency numbers and shelters, as well as a list of "To Do's" including safely securing or removing yard objects, double-checking closing all windows, and even temporarily cutting power to the home, etc. This quick info sheet has helped me more times than I know of.

Very good question. Im interested in seeing the responses.

-John
