Getting a tenant out of a home you purchase for primary residenc?
I am buying a home for my primary residence that has renters. Their lease ends in December of this year but states if a new owner takes over the house and the lease they can be given 60 days notice to vacate as long as the owners will be using the home as their primary residence. The tenants have found out that we are in contract on the home and are refusing to allow the current owner or us access for home inspection. We have offered to double their security deposit in hopes that it would help them find a suitable arrangement and help both parties but they said they were not open to it at thia time. They have also said that they will stay in the house all the way until December no matter what the lease says. I think NJ law favors the tenants but what should we do considering that we are the ones buying this property and not allowed to move in. What do we do?
