Filing wage garnishment after I won in small claims court
I had a tenant move out with just 2 days notice and broke his lease. He said he would pay next months rent and continue to pay until we rented it out, which was agreed on by both of us. After we got it rented out, 1 month later, he decided he wasn't going to pay. We had all of our communication and paper work so we took him to small claims court and won.
The is now is, how do we collect? He got the papers saying he owes us money, but now he wont respond via phone or text at all, and even before was just defensive and making stuff up.
He broke a lease when living in Ohio but as since moved to Texas. We know where he works, but the issue seems to be that they don't do wage garnishment in Texas. Anyone have experience with this?
I find it hard to believe he can just owe someone money and then move to texas and not have to worry about it anymore.
