The problem isn't the dog, it's the people that own them. There are several low-class folks, like gang-members, ex-convicts, punks, etc. that like to strut around with a pit-bull as a status symbol. It's almost like walking around with a Glock on their hip, "Everybody, look how bad I am".

The only way I would make an exception is if I got to know the tenant very well, knew the dog very well, and could tell it was raised as a lovable family pooch and not a 4-legged weapon. Middle-class mom and dad with several small kids rolling around the living room floor with a pit-bull shaking its tail... maybe. A bachelor with a neck tattoo and a pit-pull with a spiked collar... NO.
