Keep or Remove the Walk-In Tub in a rental house
We recently purchased our second rental property which is an entry level single family ranch with 3 bedrooms 2 baths and 2 car garage. The non-master bathroom contains a full featured Walk-In Tub with jets, light, etc. My understanding is that those tubs are specifically designed for elderly, making it easier to get in and out of the tub. It's in the good condition and needs no repairs, the previous owner kept it in a good shape. We are doing lots of other renovations to the property and are not sure if we should replace this with a standard tub or not. The previous owner must have spend a lot of money installing this product and it's a shame to just throw it away. Unfortunately, no way to take it out without destroying either the tub or the walls. However, I am concerned how the renters will react to this complex Walk-In Tub being at the property, causing an impact to the rental value. Also any potential accidents of people accidentally opening the door while the tub is full of water. Does anyone have experience with this product being at the rental property and causing issues? Is it better to just remove it to avoid problems down the road? Thanks.
