Broken electric/glass stovetop
Our apartment came with a stove that has an electric/glass stovetop. We recently noticed a large crack down 2 of the 4 burners. We have avoided using those 2 burners, but I’m worried about telling the landlord as it’s going to be about $600 to replace. We truly didn’t do anything dumb, like drop things on it. I have no idea why it cracked. I worry the landlord won’t believe us and will want us to pay out of pocket to fix it ASAP. Does anyone know if this is common?
Should I tell him now or wait for him to find it if we ever move out? We just signed the lease for another year. if I have to pay out of pocket, I’d rather it come out of the deposit.
