Competing in rentals?

Hello,

I'm looking to buy my first rental property but looking at the rental listings on Zillow it seems that there is a lot of competition in the area. I don't know if this is normal, but what is your take on it? The numbers work for the property I'm looking at but the competition is sort of scaring me. Here is a screenshot from Zillow.

@Brian Tran those dots don't mean anything. There could be 500 rentals on the market but maybe 450 of them are apartments and single-family homes are in high demand. And maybe half of those single-family homes won't accept a pet but yours will.

Without knowing the entire picture, nobody can really help. What kind of property do you want to buy? What's the demand for it? How can you create a competitive edge? In what ways can you protect yourself from an over-saturated market?
