Does anyone use Facebook to screen tenants?

Just curious, I see a lot of posts about the more "meat and potatoes" of screening. I was curious about alternative methods of screening.

I don't own a rental but I sublease two rooms in the house I rent.

Maybe its more helpful since I'm actually living with the individuals but I find it great for screening and can get a quick feel for a person from it. Thought I might share the tip to others, I also paste their email into google to see what pops up.

Three roomies off craigslist, all a great success with no issues. The screening gets a bit old but works out for cheap rent.

:D

I had a tenant tell me he lost his job and was going to be late paying his rent. I looked him up on FB. His profile was not private. I found out that in fact he didn't lose his job. He was on vacation at the spring break festivities in FL. BUSTED! He has since been evicted.
