Tenent work order request delay
Tenent hears a loud bursting sound from attic. All of sudden, the heat and air condition does not work, the stove does not work and tenent stated that nothing is smoking or smells burnt but notices melted plastic near the heating system. Tenent is now concerned about safety issues and has a newborn in the house and it is los 30 degrees. He has bought two space heaters at own expense and has put in 4 emergency work orders in the last 24 hours. Do anyone have any tips on what that tenent should do. Should he request hotel reimbursement since he believes no one is coming until Monday?
Yes thats an emergency . The stove and hVAC unit goin out at the same time after a "BOOM" is serious especially if there is melted plastic

This sounds like a dangerous situation. I would call an HVAC specialist that can respond immediately rather than waiting until Monday. Too late now but something you should remember for the future.

Yes, they should contact their landlord and find out what they advise their tennat to do. If they are concerned about their safety, which appears to not be the case, they should have vacated the unit and ask questions later. Buying space heaters and sitting around waiting for action does not indicate a high level of concern on the part of the tenant.
My guess is the sound was that of fuses blowing. Danger has likely passed but adding space heaters is introducing new dangers.

Just a crazy thought.....maybe take a look in the attic?
