About 3 months ago a tenent locked herself out of the apartment. The policy that we have is that during work hours, we will charge $50 to change locks, $40 for a new key. After hours, they need to hire a locksmith and provide us with a key the next morning. These options obviously did not appeal to the tenant. ...... So she called the fire department and said that she left a pot on the stove.

Fortunately, we were able to contact the fire chief, who verified that there was not pot on the stove. We charged here$600 to replace the fire rated door, and got the fire department to issue a false alarm fine that we passed on to her as well. And of course, the 30 notice. (but it's DC so she's still here)
