Tenant's ex not leaving
Hi folks,
Have a situation with my first ever lease. Tenant and girlfriend have split after living together for 12 months. Girlfriend is not on the lease and is not leaving the house. As per the tenant, he has to pay her child support but she continues to live in the house as she has nowhere to go with the kids. He wants to me to move her out, as its my house per his family lawyer and cops.
After spending an hour going thru these forums, I understand that the ex is an occupant and may have some rights after living there for more than a year. I am going to find me a lawyer tomorrow, but wanted some advice from this board. First of all, I dont think I need to get involved in moving the ex out. The tenant has a lawyer already and can advise him.
If he still wants me to get involved, I think I'll be better off evicting them all and finding new tenants. She should be able to get a place for her and the kids with the child support money. Thoughts?

There is a zero percent chance the police are going to remove an occupant who has lives in the property. It will be considered a civil matter with eviction as the only option
