Seeking info about Birmingham AL banks and section 8

Hello All,

I'm an out of state landlord for two houses in Birmingham, AL. I'd like to make it possible so that my tenants can deposit thier rent into a bank account instead of mailing payment. I'm looking for a bank that will allow me to open an account. (I know I could go with a big bank Wells or something, but id have to pay $15 a month on an account that wont hold rent  and we dont have enough capital to get the free accounts.)

Any suggestions?

Also I'm looking to connect with someone in HUD regarding Section 8? Having a bit of trouble connecting.S Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Adrienne

Regions is a regional bank here with more offices than any other (likely easy for your tenants to deposit). I would start there. Not sure I know how to help with a HUD contact... maybe be more specific with you question?
