Renting a room in my private residence

Hello everyone, Please help with any advice you guys might have. So, I decided that I’m going to rent out an extra bedroom I have in my house. I don’t use it at all, so, I figure why not make some money of it. The room it’s a good size, and has its own private full bathroom with shower. I have never done this before, so, my question is, should I do a rental agreement and background check? Also, do I charge a deposit? Idk if airBNB would be a good option for my area.
